Engineering - Summer Intern

NuStep, an industry leader in fitness and rehab equipment, is seeking a summer intern (paid) to join our Engineering team and support the design and development of new products, aligned with the corporate vision for growth and development.

In this exciting role, you will assist with the creation and development of a Watts tracking table and other outstanding projects related to our new product - T4R design and release.

Job Responsibilities
  • Benchmark past watts testing projects
  • Plan project to develop new watts and METs table that meets accuracy requirements
  • Map the resistance system and comparison to that of the T4
  • Construct the test apparatus (sensors and data acquisition system)
  • Develop a design of experiments to collect required data
  • Coordinate ride testing and data collection
  • Analyze data and develop trend lines
  • Summarize project and prepare data table for inclusion in software.
Specific knowledge and experience needed
  • Strong design/ drafting engineering background
  • Strong analytical, math skills to process data, work with formulas, develop best fit lines etc.
  • Beneficial to have a deep interest in fitness, wellness, and healthcare industry
Additional skills:
  • Strong analytical skills and have the ability to work with numbers and data
  • Ability to organize, plan, and manage a project
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Good understanding of mechanical systems
  • Exposure to fitness industry exercise data tracking and general familiarity

Mechanical Product Design Engineer

NuStep, an industry leader in fitness and rehab equipment, is seeking an experienced Mechanical Product Design Engineer to join our Engineering team and support the design and development of new innovative products, aligned with the corporate vision for growth and development.

In this exciting role, you will assist in new product conceptualization and be responsible for the detailed design of products from start to completion. You will be expected to select and apply analytical techniques and engineering principles during product development, using engineering skills such as statics, mechanics, tolerance stacks, FEA, and behaviors of materials.

Additional Job Responsibilities
  • Evaluate and select materials and manufacturing processes
  • Create engineering drawings using GD&T techniques
  • Establish and maintain bills of material
  • Assist with the development and execution of DV/PV Plans
  • Work with new and existing suppliers to source parts, develop tooling, reduce costs etc.
  • Establish and maintain schedules and task lists for sub-assembly development
Job Requirements
  • Degree: Bachelors degree in mechanical engineering required
  • Fluent in computer aided design software (SolidWorks preferred)
  • 5 Years minimum prior related product design experience required
  • 2 Years of project management experience preferred
  • Skills required:
    • Strong analytical skills and have the ability to work with numbers and data
    • Ability to convert concepts into designs
    • Ability to work independently and collaborate with others
    • Ability to organize, plan, and manage the development product subsystems
    • Working knowledge of design and development techniques
    • Familiar with manufacturing processes such as welding, injection molding, machining
    • Have a good understanding of the function of mechanical systems
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

NuStep, an industry leader in fitness and rehab equipment, is seeking a highly-motivated and self-disciplined Outside Sales Representative to pursue sales opportunities throughout the state of Illinois. In this exciting and lucrative role, you will strive to grow sales in and around Chicago, IL, focusing on customer care and satisfaction. Aside from selling and promoting the NuStep brand, you will also build strong relationships in defined markets, including Senior Living, Skilled Nursing, Healthcare and Physical Therapy.

Job Responsibilities
As an Field Sales Representative for NuStep, you will contact new and existing customers to discuss their needs and how they could best meet them. You will diligently answer all questions about our products, their features, prices and availability, as well as credit terms.

Job Requirements

As an Outside Sales Representative for NuStep, you must have strong presentation and interpersonal skills as well as highly-developed verbal communication skills. We are also seeking a closer with proven success in market penetration and developing a pipeline.

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 2-4 years of successful Business-to-Business sales
  • Strategic Selling and Market Penetration experience
  • A willingness to travel throughout your specified region
  • (approximately 80% of time)
  • Performing equipment demonstrations
  • Having a clean driving record
  • Familiarity with the Senior Living, Healthcare and Exercise Equipment markets, preferred
  • Residing anywhere in the Chicago, IL or vicinity area would be ideal
